Noble gets stick but Anderson doesn’t
I’ve been saying for a couple of years now that i think we are a better side with Noble in it. He gets unfair stick from a lot of people on here.
However I really cannot understand why Anderson seems to get away with it. Today and often in the past he is ineffective and loses possession at crucial times. A good player on his day but they don’t come around often enough.

Andrerson gets away with it? Are you joking. Alongside Noble he gets the most stick.

I notice on Facebook after the game a lot of fans i know had particular vitorol for his alleged "Disgusting" and "Atrocious' performance whilst Messrs Rice and Lanzini got away with zero criticism when, in fact, Rice gave the ball away several times, twice causing them to score.

It's not a blame game for me but I find the OP's comments strange when I see Anderson constantly getting dogs abuse.

Re: Noble gets stick but Anderson doesn’t
factory, would be interested to see those stats?

From my view there were allot of times he either lost the ball and did not track back, or was jogging around in between the odd attempt at closing down.

Last season he did enough with the ball at his feet to provide a great MOTD tekkers reel which meant that people who did not see him for 90 minutes thought he was amazing, and technically he is absolute quality. But for me he just needs to get that bit of consistency so that between those moments of skill and class he is doing something positive.

That's my opinion.

Thank you, someone else that picks up on this. I find Man City are actually quite a dirty team, constant little fouls when they do not have the ball. The sort of foul that often does not get blown up, never a yellow, but constantly, especially at Lanzini, Wilshere and Rice. I don’t think they had the ball without being pushed of shirt pulled. That Rodri was a disgrace, not even very good. Lanzini does not handle it well, falls over too much, I wish he would man up. I’m sure Man City must practice that in training as it is too coincidental that they are all at it?

not the best example anderson spent 90% of last season getting pelters from mongs for not tracking back or putting a foot in, when statistically he had some of the best defensive stats of any attacking player in the league.

Gaffer58,

Hahaha! Was that aimed at me suggesting Dicks?

I loved him, but he could do some naughty stuff at times.

With the players we have, we would have to try and play the Pep, way it's about intercepting rather than tackling.

It was more like 26 seconds it was taking our lot to try and get the ball back.

Anderson fucking get loads of stick. Sometimes warranted, sometimes not so.

In fact there are barely any players who don't at times. Fabianski excepted.

Spot on.

Absolute madness not to bring in a big strong DM a lot of teams are going to relish it against our midfield.
Any game where we get drawn into a battle we'll lose it
Some very talented players in our midfield but we need at least one real big mobile ball winner to supplement them.

Re: Noble gets stick but Anderson doesn’t
It's not about taking players out at the neck, more about at least letting them know your there, yesterday City had it too easy. Pep's instructions at Barca, and I would presume still stand, was once you've lost the ball to win it back inside 6 seconds, that means working hard by chasing and pressing, not standing by and admiring at how good the opposition look.

We need Billy Bonds along side Rice

Chuck in Julian Dicks, too - altnough i don't know how long Bonds or Dicks would last in this day and age where you only have to breathe on someone and it's a booking.

Re: Noble gets stick but Anderson doesn’t
Is Pelle's problem that he is basically a continental manager, lots of pretty keep ball, but no physical presence. It's the premier league where you have to earn the right to play football, look how many times City were happy to give away a niggling free kick to break up our attacks, even in the modern game teams still have a midfielder there to disrupt the opposition, Chelsea's Kante is the prime example, so without Noble who do we have to do the dirty work?

We are only a better side with noble in because we have never replaced him with anyone better.

Re: Noble gets stick but Anderson doesn’t
Anderson gets away with more because he gets goals and assists, more than Noble. He definitely gives the ball away too much. But you want him on as he can also win you the game.

I don't think I have been to a home game where someone hasn't had a go at Anderson. Does he fuck get away with anything.
Over the season he is a fucking big asset and deserves a lot more slack than he gets.

He got stick last season while nicking 10 goals and lots of assists, as he was also anonymous in games.

That's the sort of player he is and he definitely doesnt get away with it.

Anderson probably got more stick than any other player last season

Wow
He gets stick (deservedly yesterday as he was anonymous until he was injured) , Noble gets stick ... they ALL get stick.
Apart from maybe Fabianski

Re: Noble gets stick but Anderson doesn’t
It's because Anderson does 1 or 2 tricks on the halfway line. Or maybe it's because he plays like a girl and men like girls, well most do anyway.

43 million quid for a spaced out looking show pony.

Re: Noble gets stick but Anderson doesn’t
I said earlier on here that we needed the passion of someone like Noble or Snodders and that we should try to start with one or the other every game. Their passion seems to infect the other players. Sadly Pellers didn’t take my advice.

As for Anderson, he had a bad game. Everyone does now and then. Get over it.
